Your Role and Responsibilities:
The IBM Coud Platform team is looking for a development manager to join our growing mission to support applications running in our public cloud. The IBM Cloud Platform combines platform as a service (PaaS) with infrastructure as a service (IaaS) to provide an integrated experience to the user. The platform scales and supports both small development teams and organizations, and large enterprise businesses. Globally deployed across data centers around the world, the solutions we build on IBM Cloud spin up fast and perform reliably in a tested and supported environment you can trust. IBM is trailblazing new cloud platform technologies and services that span key technology areas that include security services, billing systems, and identity and access management capabilities running on IBM’s industry leading Containers platform. We are looking for experienced leaders with a broad array of full-stack development skills that span both backend and UI development. As a manager, the ideal candidate must bring a deep level of experience in management and exposure to designing and implementing modern cloud services. In addition, they are accountable as individuals and organizational leaders for delivering value by bringing deep technology domain and implementation expertise in topics aligned with cloud platform integration, orchestration/provisioning, security, compute and DevOps. Cloud software managers are expected to also help lead the gathering of customer business and technical requirements, implement specific technologies while demonstrating progress on a regular basis, and work with technical leads or project managers to identify and overcome technical blockers.
Key Responsibilities:
As a leader within the organization, you will play an integral role in building the next generation of advanced technologies as part of the IBM cloud platform.
Your responsibilities will include:
Deep knowledge of major cloud technologies aligned with the IBM Cloud Platform, and additional knowledge or experience in the areas of IT and/or cloud technology architecture (service management and/or resiliency is a plus).
Architecture and design method champion to gather and analyze requirements, design and implement specific solutions. Expert level understanding of conceptual, logical and physical design stages.
Identifying and addressing design, development, and delivery performance bottlenecks.
Coaching, educating, and evangelizing development best practices.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise:
Bachelor’s in technical discipline, Computer Science (or relevant).
7+ years software development experience.
3+ years people management experience preferred.
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise:
React, NodeJS, Go (or other similar languages), Kubernetes/Containers, product development, Cloud services development and management, people management experience, experience working with global team spanned across multiple locations
Education:
UG :B.Sc in Computers, B.Tech/B.E. in Any Specialization, Computers, BCA in Computers
PG :Any Postgraduate in Any Specialization
